I so much as *look* at the usb-c port on my phone and it stops mating properly after 8 months.
The answer I am obviously suggesting is there should be a new USB-T port type for mobile devices which is a big 9 or 15 pin DSUB.. or maybe an old school MIL-DTL-38999 connector.
