     Not really.
     
     I prefer my ClipSport Pro because I mainly use it for listening to music while I run. If you have the money to spare and are keen on style it might be worth it.

     @Bead @kaia style is nice, but I need the functionality to go along with it. Basically, Rockbox was amazing because it could play everything and even spc, psf, etc. Basically the outright ripped Snes, NES, GB, PS1 game format

     @Bead @kaia @coolboymew I had one of those Astell & Kern players a few years. They sound great but they run an old Android version and their music app sucked. You can run whatever other media player on it you want though.

     I liked the way it sounded but never liked their audio app and didn’t really find one I liked on Android. Ended up selling it. Personally I’d rather have a dedicated music player.

     But if most features ends up needing their crappy player, then bah. And yeah, I can just use Foobar on my phone too, so
     
     I'm damn happy with a basic dedicated device too, but I now have opus files and stuff and I'd rather it having rockbox installed

     Spotify absolutely would not work for streaming. It sounded like modem screeching out of the headphones for some reason.

     @coolboymew @kaia @Bead @gray Droidsound‐e is the /comfy/est music player I've used on android. It even supports vgmstream. A few years ago some freetards were sperging out about the developer not releasing the source code despite the original droidsound on which it's based being GPL‐licensed, but I will keep using it as long as there are no better alternatives.
