@rakyat @abhijith lol yes, I noticed his past videos and saw the same. It's hard to get good "balanced" videos but hey, maybe the trick is to just to watch them all lol.
Just a lot more work for viewers of course. Only nuts like us would do it -_-

@liztai
Haha Johnny Harris is only the *relatively* balanced of the bunch but he’s been known to talk cock about stuff he doesn’t know about. When I watched one of his videos about China, I could spot so many issues as a casual observer (like mistaking the Yangtze River for the Yellow River, and for crediting the CCP too much for China’s expansionist attitude while ignoring that the Kuomintang government before that claimed even more territory including the current Mongolia lol.)
@abhijith
@abhijith @rakyat So when he talks about China as a rising global war order, what images does he use? Tanks and soldiers. Bruh.
Comments: You're pro-China!
@abhijith @rakyat Yeah. I have to make a special effort to hunt for more balanced content or at least, a narrative that is different than the current Western-dominated one. When you think of it - most of the world media outlets are Western companies, so I guess there's no wonder it's harder to find different POVs.

@liztai @abhijith I just watched this yesterday, TLDR: not taking a side between the US & China/Russia is helping global south countries negotiate the best outcomes for ourselves.
@abhijith Oh lord. Lol. The problem with this whole thing is that they treat us like we can't think for ourselves and that we are easily manipulated. It's this condescension that I can't stand. This book explains the tensions re Us Ukraine and Russia, and I understand it better now and why the global South wants to stay the eff away.
For Asians, especially #TootSEA folks, Kishore's talking points will be familiar. But Western readers will find it confronting as it pops many ideological bubbles & it'll hit at the ego.
It is refreshing to read geo #politics from a SEA perspective. I'm used to Western narratives, so to see my thoughts represented here is quite validating. This was written in the Trump era, so it's painful to see his warnings come to pass especially with China, Ukraine & Russia😞
