We are internationally recognized as an ecological desert. “Ireland is one of the worst places on the entire planet for nature,” according to author Eoghan Daltun. And the vast majority of the damage has been done in the last 50 years. Ireland has a legally binding target of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 by 51%.

@Mina We went all in on industrial farming. And since the 1970s, we advertised ourselves as a cheap toxic dump for the chemical and other industries. Now, we trying to attract data centers. Ireland is a dedicated member of the Growth Death Cult. It's GDP and growth over everything and anything.

This is totally astonishing for me, Ireland being such a sparsely populated country with such a benign climate for plant life (how benign for human life is a question of taste).

Much of the damage done to Ireland's environment has been done in the last 50 years by Industrial Agriculture. Agricultural orgs here are MAGA, aggressively spreading misinformation and cancelling anyone who dares challenge them.
