@captain_arepa @sevvie not everybody, but for those who actively seek power it is common. It's a lack of humility and temperance, and an authoritarian philosophy/worldview.
The idea that a central authority can force outcomes without terrible side-effects and unintended consequences, and all they have to do is (temporarily) take away other people's freedoms (just a little bit) for that greater good (so much more important).

@aven@shitposter.club @sevvie@collapse.pub It's the same everywhere. Everybody thinks they're the chosen one to solve all problems in the world, but either due weakness or ineptitude they end up doing more harm than good :lain_shrug:
