   Are #trains too expensive?They need to be more affordable to compete with the plane.

   BUT

   Many trains, particularly #nighttrains are full. Reducing costs won't bring more passengers. First, we need more trains

   Which price policy is needed? @jon: "It depends"

   Milan-Rome. Large cities linked with good infra: more competition

   Amsterdam-Brussels. Already at capacity: no use for new operators

   Paris-Brussels. State-owned monopoly (Thalys) but prices set via market

     But as far as I know, railroad works still have to start!
