   Obviously shouldn't underestimate China, but I struggle to see them ever being a successful military power given their history of being weak and timid and mercantile

     @augustus I think they prefer more stealthy methods of control anyway. Just look at them handing out loans to Africa. Don't even need military power to takeover.

     @augustus imagine a small highly professional gunpowder army marching back and forth across the continent to fight horse fuckers and jungle fuckers and having to invent completely new ways of killing people to deal with a ridiculous variety of enemies.
