   I set up a Threads account recently after seeing several of my Instagram friends did so.

   I prefer Mastodon in terms of interacting with interesting people who I do not know personally, but I am enjoying seeing more content from people I do know that I have lost contact with after leaving both Twitter and Facebook.

   Ultimately not sure where I will land on Threads, but for now I'm there.

     @mcmcgreevy You really cut to the core of a frustration I have right now. I'm making *lots* of new and interesting Internet friends over here, but I just cannot attract much of my IRL social life to the Fedi, and so unless I can find them on Discord or something, I'm kinda a bit left out. And yet, that's also both a good thing and a bad thing.

     @roadriverrail Exactly that. You and @maladrin are the two people I am closest to here (amusingly, both also old school LJ folks AND people who bailed on Twitter).

     My social life has been kinda trashed in general since 2019 so that part isn’t quite so bad, but I do miss seeing life snippets from people I think are keen.

     @mcmcgreevy @maladrin Wow! I had no idea @maladrin was on here! That sure takes me back all the way to my undergrad days (oh, Full Circle, you will be missed).

     I think where I feel it the hardest is on times like this weekend, where we had a huge party and lots of pictures, and Amy can exchange pics with people on FB and Insta. It's reasonable for most of these folx to not want to get on the Fedi; it's Another Damn Thing when what they have works already.
