   @blaaablaaaa @grey @teknomunk yeah, for a while with immigration that's what kind of happened, it was filtering for the not totally incompetent 3rd worlders, so ye ol boomer could just say "I'll pay minimum wage,no more!" and get workers.
   
   Now they have the audacity to cry that their magic solution isn't working anymore

     Yeah, I assume they did have the thought they might be able to apply the same solution to this problem for a while but "low skilled" labor in taiwan is different that low skilled labor in america and the west. Like I said I don't think they actually realize how hopeless a lot of these talented people are.

     Surprising to the wider population. I think they still have the mentality if they put an "now hiring" sign up they'll have people flooding in willing to work for the bare minimum. Overall these people don't know how hopeless talented people actually are.

     I was talking with someone else about this and they predicted these things wouldn't take off since they don't have anyone to staff them. They are planning on lots of chip manufacturing facilities all around america (I can think of like 6 or more right now they are trying to push through) but they don't have the man power. Surprising they can't staff one really.

     Hopeless as in even with a high paying job they have no hope in the future of getting or having a house, family, leisure time, or hobbies. So I guess hopeless to try to get them. For some people there is a timeframe when their passion and obsession can be adequately channeled and directed in a way that is useful for a company. If it's not these people will be jaded and uncooperative because the company/incentives don't mean anything to them.

     @shibao @blaaablaaaa I think both. I have a somewhat autistic brother who’s worked on software since he could talk, and is incredibly efficient with his work. He has spent an entire year looking for jobs but nobody will hire him because he’s a White guy with zero social skills, and they’re looking for oversocialized troons and fat black women.

     On the flip side, there’s me. I could find a job and I’m actively looking for a place that doesn’t shun Whites, but any system put in place to help Americans get skilled training has been pushed behind so many layers of bureaucracy that it takes me hours of researching a company before I can even speak to a human who speaks English. Some days it’s not worth the effort, so I NEET. Thousands of guys do the same, but without the effort.

     @shibao @veff @blaaablaaaa 🤨 I'm glad your career is working out but there are plenty of talented white guys who can't find work in software explicitly because HR filters them out. That's hardly an uncommon story these days.
