@GNUxeava@thor I would say "nobody would ever buy that printer again" but since all printers would do it uniformly I don't really know. Eventually you'd just shoot up town hall to escape the simulation.
Color laser printers actually have tracking dots, this is 100% confirmed. I have not seen anything on inkjets (yet) but every color laser is notorious for the "yellow dots". If you want proof it can work, one US government leaker who was clumsy as shit and printed out documents was busted and it was theorized one way she could have been caught was these dots since they were actually still visible in the posted documents.
To add to that, the groups involved in "flyering" neighborhoods will suggest to buy an Epson Ecotank (instead of using BW lasers like back in the day) and I'm sure if you look at the left wing DIY zine scene they'll say the same thing since you can print thousands of pages for a few bucks a bottle. image.png
@GNUxeava many inkjets print visually indistinguishable QR-like codes so if anyone tries to counterfeit money, the buyer of that printer can be tracked down
