     @mia I think they will shut it down. LBRY fans will try to run alternative sites and clients, but these are unlikely to get much attention. Content creators will flee to other platforms (hopefully PeerTube).

     @mia Yeah, self-hosting is very important and it's nearly impossible to destroy a network run by volunteers. Companies like Lbry, on the other hand, are easy targets. When the company disappears the whole network collapses because its users are passive consumers. Instead of owning the infrastructure, they own tokens.

     I guess the cost of self-hosting really can't be obscured away, the whole reward mechanism for views seemed a poor choice to me, serving the content should have generated the reward (Nostr also seems to fail to understand this at all) so it falls through. I think you have some good insight here, Mitra certainly touches on that and has top be realistic with multiple existing coins rather than trying to spin up a new one, while fighting SEC and YouTube at the same time.
