I honestly prefer the concept of being a playable raider or tribal in the Fallout series than some glorified cunt with a computer mounted on his wrist while wearing a bright ass blue and yellow jumpsuit.

@Marakus @LordMordred tbh in fallout 2 especially but in 1, low int rp playthroughs were a fun thing.

@LordMordred You play as a tribal in f2, but I dont think PC remembers it was a thing after the first town. Also cata:dda and rimworld.

@Marakus @LordMordred you also weren't special in either of those games, not really, in 2 it's like 'your great grandpa is the guy who found the water chip for his vault "THE CHOSEN ONE" ' butin reality he was hte most expendable guy they oculd send, annd, they kicked him out anyways, course a buncha tribals are like OMG BEST PERSON EVER!"

@LordMordred @Marakus i dunno, you can do w/e you want in most of the older games
the starting point is the starting point tho, it was never meant to be a total sandbox it's an rpg it has a story and an end point.

@Zealist @Marakus They really need to scrap the whole major titled character shit and just let people choose a class and spec them how they want NPCs will just call you by whatever class you chose instead of shit like the Chosen One, the Vault Dweller, the Lone Wanderer, the Courier, etc.

@LordMordred @Zealist Npc have to call protagonist something in voicelines, and it is more memorable than "hey you".

@Marakus @LordMordred 1 and 2 had like a handful of voice acted characters they didn't really you call you anything specific cuz it was written well, but in dilalogue people jsut call you your name if they should know it for any reason.

@Marakus @Zealist "Nice to see a friendly raider out here in the wastes; are you with the Khans or something?"
"Are you a member of the Dead Horses? I heard about your tribe's victory at Zion Valley against the White Legs."
"She's a member of the Sorrows; what are you going to do? Cry me a river, lady."
"You're a former White Legs member; were you Salt-Upon-Wound's protégé or something?"
"Holy hell, you're one of those big league guys from New Reno. What are you doing out here trying to reestablish the Jet market?"
"Are you a Jacobstown resident? What brings you to these parts, big fella?"

@LordMordred @Marakus khans ain't exactly nice people lol by any means, i doubt they're hte worst raider gang, but canonically i'm pretty sure fallout 1 or 2 protag actually almost completely wiped them out for being huge dickheads and they chilled out a bit after htat.

@Zealist @Marakus I rather have my character side with the drug dealing Khans then be a foot stool for a bunch of shit colored camo boys and girls larping as the federal government that doomed the world

@LordMordred @Marakus also when i said ending all life in the wasteland, i was specifically talking about 1 and 2 near the end of the game, i'd just go through and collect everyone's inventories cuz i oculd, ages ago.
