   @heluecht @woodsbythesea The lead in sentence of his Wikipedia entry summarizes him best: "Barnum was an American showman, businessman, and politician, remembered for promoting celebrated hoaxes and founding the Barnum & Bailey Circus...". Ironically although there is no evidence he ever said it he is widely credited with the saying, "There's a sucker born every minute" too.
