   @elly I don't think you're wrong, but this is a consequence of the industry intentionally destroying the foundations of the internet, putting middlemen in everything, and turning mail software to garbage.

   We have a lot of work to do to repair that and make ways that folks can send patches, with readily available tools, that don't involve GitHub or the likes...

     This opinion will light my butt on fire, but mailing lists are absolutely the worst way to contribute code in modern day and age.
     
     It took me 2 minutes to write and form a patch. Now I have to remind myself how to send it to upstream properly.
