   interesting (actually really predictable) how the anti-trans discourse is purely an appeal to emotion and disgust, and a third party one at that. "they're mutilating our children" and so on, fixating usually on one specific aspect, and also never actually thinking about what the people concerned think. it's the same strategy that was used against black people, then against gay people, now being used against trans people

     is it really a malicious strategy or is it extremely flawed reasoning? someday we may have an answer, but hopefully before too much damage is done

     @feld @chjara it's a feedback loop where the disgust prevents empathy (creating the flaw in the moral reasoning by omitting the fact that other conscious sentient beings are involved) and lack of empathy allows the disgust propaganda to reinforce itself (giving licence, and eventually the moral obligation, to engage in malice)
