@GalacticTurtle Yes, but it can get extreme economically, environmentally, and even sexually. A libertarian pretty much has to believe that women should be able to rent out our bodies for prostitution and surrogacy. I’ll vote Libertarian as a sort of placeholder – if the Ds and Rs both want to do bad things, the party that will do nothing at all may be the best choice. However, I guess I am really a moderate left-liberal, or as this quiz says, “progressive” (though I dispute this term).
@Cousin_Isobel It seems there is a follow up quiz for the small percentage of authoritarians out there to determine if I'm prone to locking people up in a mean way or locking people up in a nice way. Let's see what I get. But it starts with, "Authoritarians like you believe a strong central government is needed to manage the economy, build a strong nation, and protect communities from descending into chaos." Your honor, I believe this is my job description. So I'm going to interpret this as a personality test since I readily admit to having little grasp on political issues.
@GalacticTurtle The picture for “authoritarian” even looks a little like your profile pic, with a different hairstyle and a different color space suit.
@GalacticTurtle Wow, you’re pretty hard to pin down – a 100% respectful authoritarian.
I only got 60% respectful because I wouldn’t let it convince me to become an economic libertarian absolutist. That’s what it does to progressives. I kept saying some taxation is okay with a majority vote.
@Cousin_Isobel For the taxes question, I think I chose the "I can't think of another way this would work" answer. I debated doing the "it's part of the social contract but we can vote to change it" but didn't. Truthfully I don't even think I could define what a libertarian is. I'm guessing that's the "you do you, I'll do me" approach.
@Cousin_Isobel "Don't lecture me, Obi-Wan! I see through the lies of the Jedi. I do not fear the dark side as you do. I have brought peace, freedom, justice, and security to my new Empire!" 😇
