   If Threads get into #activitypub with 100,000,000 users, would it be a risk to smaller servers when a user or toot goes viral and it DDOS the resources of the smaller servers? Cc @dangillmor @dansup @fediverso @Gargron @jayrosen_nyu @theexplorographer

     @penalbatoday @dangillmor @fediverso @Gargron @jayrosen_nyu @theexplorographer Nope, if Threads was spread across a million servers with 100 users each, that would cause a DDOS though!

     @penalbatoday @dangillmor @fediverso @Gargron @jayrosen_nyu @theexplorographer if your post goes viral, other servers that don't know about it will fetch a cached (on mastodon/pixelfed anyways) copy of the object and any replies will be sent to your followers and mentioned users using the efficient sharedInbox method when supported (so only 1 delivery per domain)
