   So following a #hashtag that's mostly used on a different instance won't show me the posts on my TL. I guess that's due to how federation works.
   Does anyone know a workaround for that?

     With Fedilab you can follow tags (Mastodon feature) and you can pin them in a timeline (Fedilab feature).

     I can follow other instances, but can I make a positive filtration on hashtags?

     you probably want to make sure that you follow someone on that server who is following a lot of people on that server, to increase the proliferation of the federation. Often an admin account is a good choice for this.

     @gnu2 I ended up following lots of people from that instance who posts things of interest and adding them to a list. I also made my own instance to better understand how federation works :)
