   Living in Texas, where there has been no functional Democratic Party since Ann Richards, my relationship is with Democrats at the national level because that's about the only chance we have of getting any help down here.

   So while I think it's nice when people anecdotally have good relations with their blue state Democrats, it doesn't really mean much to me. It's like telling me about politics in France. It's not super relevant. And the SCOTUS can destroy blue state safe havens in an instant.

     I mention this because some people's favorite response to criticizing Democrats is, "Well, here in [blue state], they seem great!"

     And like, I'm glad for you? That's terrific. That and a nickel gets me absolutely nothing.
