What does it mean that Meta's new Twitter-clone will integrate with ActivityPub? Does it mean I can use my Mastodon account to connect there? Can someone explain in nontechnical terms?

Yup. In principle, it it could be possible to bridge a Bluesky protocol to ActivityPub. But that protocol is currently so hypothetical, that’s hardly even a useful question. It’s a bit like asking whether a newly self-declared micronation on an oil platform could join the EU in 20 years: maybe an interesting thought exercise, but not a question that’s close to answerable in practical terms yet because circumstances and human context matter as much as technicalities.
