Late-stage capitalism? That was last week. Welcome to extinction-stage capitalism.

The only alternative to capitalism is #communism (a system of collective relations) and this alternative seems to have only materialized in #zapatista #Autonomous
communities in the past 30y and 2 days. Possibly in small pre-industrial communities of hunter-gatherers.

Everywhere else exchange relationships are the system, and before that there was no-economic-system.

The political system is one of a forced inequality (economic, social, political)

@aral We're going to hear capitalism is the "worst economic system, except for all the others" from the people on the winning side of global exploitation and destruction until there are are no more people to exploit and nature to destroy.

That is, unless we get them to admit they actually know of only a couple of alternatives and that there is no limit to the different ways we could structure our economy if we just used our imagination.

@yianiris @ttiurani Tina? Thatcher would be proud but I don’t think so.

@jones Yeah, but we didn’t have the technological ability to bring it about for our species until fairly recently.

@aral the way i see it, capitalism has *always* been decimation/exitinction stage.

@jones I like the sound of “anarchic international.” I’d naïvely believed that’s what Diem25’s “progressive international” meant until I realised it meant “traditional socialist international” (which is assistant a *very* different thing and, no thank you, I’m not a fan of hierarchies regardless) and a little “cult of Julian Assange.”

Bookmarked to read properly when I get a moment :)

It would "just" take an International to do it, something like this (sorry it's quite an old writing, i'd like to update it and make it clearer and less "ironic" in some parts): https://bu.noblogs.org/for-an-anarchic-international/ 🙂 (2/2)

@aral yes, and we also didn't have the technological ability to solve the decimation/extinction problem itself, on its ecological level; and that same technological ability, and its much easier developments, would be of great help with a world finally liberated from capitalism: an anarcho-communist, or socialist-libertarian (as you like it more) world where, in addition to all the other, there would be no patents, no industrial secrets, no secret scientific and humanist knowledge.
