   @boutell We need to build alternative solutions that have equality baked in, so they can't become another Whole Foods -- so that as they grow, they help more and more people instead of making a few people more and more wealthy.

     Maybe people will be angry enough at these decisions to do something about it in Novembers to come. Maybe we can keep it intersectional this time. A guy can hope (and send the kids 💰 whenever he can).

     It's going to be tempting to turn away from politics again. How do we fight a gerrymandered House, a constitutionally gerrymandered Senate, and a 6-3 majority of young conservative Supreme Court judges? Damn.

     Which is cool, sorta, but it doesn't do anything for people who can't afford it. It doesn't fight systemic racism, it doesn't end inequality.

     They turned toward making change in their personal buying decisions, starting food co-ops, etc. Which gradually evolved into big businesses like Whole Foods.

     A lot of it goes back to privileged progressives who were despondent after Nixon won in '72. They felt they would never be able to make a difference through the political system. (ct'd)
