   @ubi my favorite is when you hear jokes about a news thing for like three days straight and then finally you come across someone mentioning a thing for real and you read the whole post three times trying to find the joke in it but there never was one

     The way I receive news on Mastodon: I get some strange random references that make no sense (submarine! Cage match! Russia!) about a day before I actually see the actual news report.

     Maybe I should follow more news accounts.
