I don't get why people seem surprised that "news" are about emotional stories (e.g. Titanic submarine) and not what actually important that's happening in the world (e.g. migrant deaths, climate catastrophe).
It's always more or less been like this.
The "news" publications won't change--it's literally what they do: serve up emotions to get you to read and watch so they can sell advertising space.
The only way to not have this in your life is to not consume it.
