I just want to say it’s really cool being on here. I use to be on Twitter and it felt so hostile. For all the words said bad about decentralized social media? I’ve found it to be very pleasant here. Thanks for making this more interesting and informative.

@SlicerDicer It was seeing diving opportunities at Molokini crater that got me interested in actually getting trained, so I can go back there and dive there. We were staying in Napili beach at the time, looking over to Molokai.

Currently I'm living in Melbourne Australia, so I've dived around here so far in places like https://www.divessi.com/en/mydiveguide/divesite/93753

FreeBSD?! Awesome. I'm a long time OpenBSD and mac user too. I don't have much in the way of video gear though.

@SlicerDicer I've been watching Dive talk and their discussions on rebreathers, so your posts are super interesting here.

@lantrix @SlicerDicer Ahh neat well I’ve done like I dunno some 1500 hours on a rebreather. I dove the same spot same profile over and over twice a week. I find that routine in gas and site you chose leads to less task loading. You know the environment, you know the ways out. That’s what I did as one measure to survive.

Sure I dove other places, like I dove Molokai mostly. Though I’d dive off Olowalu, Makena and shore dive sites. I did in Australia too, that was cool. Southern cross divers are bad ass in Sydney down in the spit.

If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Also I used FreeBSD and iscsi to link 12tb mounted to my Mac with 10gbit to process my video. This is one of my controllers. I have one manual as well as a inspiration eccr.

@SlicerDicer yeah I've been snorkling since I was a kid in the 80s, and always wanted to do SCUBA.

I'm super lucky my cousin is a Master Instructor, so got to have her teach me.

I can't wait to get back in the water.

Every time I do it, it's liberating.

@lantrix It’s absolutely amazing at Molokini, I’d just go there when the weather was too rough to go to Molokai.
