     @kaia it's like how there are languages where two words are spelled exactly the same but have vocal emphasis on a different syllable, as the only way to differentiate them. In Russian
     дома (plural of houses, stressed а), дома ("at home", of the house, stressed о) - you could be casually saying that you're home or smugly talking about your multiple homes
     мести (vengeance, stressed е), мести (sweep, stressed и) - you could be out for blood or you could be out to clear the sidewalks
     мука (the flour, stressed а), мука (the agony, stressed у) - you could be screaming in pain or screaming because flour just got everywhere
