People, people, people…so confused. So very confused.
THIS is a slur:

@inthehands you can’t just waltz in here and post slurs, buddy, there are RULES on this platform
Look, I get it, it’s hard to tell what’s a slur and what’s not a slur!
In this passage, for example, slurs are indigo and ties are orange. The only clear differentiator is whether the arc joins two notes of the same pitch. This is confusing! It is IMO a fairly significant flaw in traditional music notation.
It’s not just billionaires! Even intelligent people get tripped up on this.
@Tom_frog @jpsim
While not wanting to diminish the coda of conduct…ing around here, I do think my measured approach makes this a minor problem. It’s not like I’m inciting violins!
@jpsim @inthehands clearly that’s his forte, don’t try to bar him
Huh, maybe Musk thinks “trans” is short for “transposed.”
My dude, moving music to a different key does not affect legato, articulation, or phrasing. Transposition does not imply a slur.
And to think, this guy’s trying to build self-driving cars and rocket ships and crap.
Who called it “in the original key” instead of “cisposed”
@AlgoCompSynth oh, I know, the entire thread is a joke
@inthehands In my youth I was planning to be a chemist. "Cis" and "Trans" are terms from organic chemistry that describe the placement of a group of atoms on two isomers of a molecule.
Someone applied the "cis" label to people who are not "trans", and the usage has become part of the language. There's no musical analogy here.
Musk knows *exactly* what he is doing. It's vile. He's destroying Twitter and will end up selling it for parts in whatever passes for a liquidation sale these days.
