     @SirAnthony well yes that is true. But I would say the authoritarian/libertarian pendulum is a completely separate one to the traditional/progressive one. Culture war is the latter. Political war is the former.

And only brought it up as a contrast to what I was actually trying to say. Back to the OP, I'm just suggesting Elon's decision is a step in the opposite direction to which western CULTURE (not politics) has accepted as normal.
