Because they are, get over it and accept it, it's the truth. Just like Linux upstream is also nonfree, so is *BSD. And if you think no licensing statement makes it public domain, I got bad news for you, the Berne convention disagrees, everything is all rights reserved by default unless stated otherwise almost everywhere.

Haha, you're so clever.
I have never once put down a Linux user and said that BSD was superior. But I just start casually talking about BSD, because it is something I'm interested in, it's a hobby for me, and like clockwork these GNU bozos come around with the firmware and licensing bullshit. It just gets old, it really does.
