   maybe dumb question, but
   
   whats the purpose of the anti-meta fedi pact? like i can block facebook crap (yes, i did that already) without signing a pact.
   
   or asked differently: why should i sign it?

     @toni@blahaj.zone i am an instance admin/mod on the fediverse. by signing this pact, i hereby agree to block any instances owned by meta should they pop up on the fediverse.i fail to see that implication there. it pretty clearly states "instances owned by meta"

     @puniko probably! But there’s already some controversy around mstdn.social, so it also serves as a way to distinguish possible bad apples around the big instances

     @puniko I think it's important that we make it very clear we aren't going to play nicely with their EEE bullshit on day 1, and signing a huge pact that basically defeats the entire point of them federating is a great way to do that

     @puniko I think it would be best if we all got basically everyone on Fedi to agree to block Fecebook and basically make them fully de-federated from fedi on day 1, so Fuckerburg has to shut down the entire federation project because no one will federate with him
