Serious question: when the queen dies and we commonwealth types now all have a king again, does Britain have an act of parliament to change the lyrics to the national anthem? Or is there a law already that says “we switch automagically upon X”?

Also, the National anthem we played in the Royal New Zealand Navy was God save the Queen, when we raised the flag, it fits in 16 seconds.

I just want to know if there’s a standing law declaring that it changes automagically or they have to amend some shit every few decades. Given the shenanigans it required to remove the word “young” from our shithouse anthem as if that will suddenly appease the blackfellas there’s no way the uk anthem just changes because people feel like it.

I found random God Save the Queen! in legislation.
