   This is the first vacation in like 10+ years where I am away from home (and this the allure of chores, projects, and the TV) and have no major events or expectations on me. And most of my time has gone to taking lots and lots of short naps. Even just reading an interesting book feels like too much for my brain, and I nap again after 10 pages. I don't think I realized the level of stress and exhaustion I put myself under in daily life.

     @mcmcgreevy It really, truly is. And our hosts kinda keep prodding me to see if I intend to lay on the couch and read when there's a whole London I could go see. But really what I need is brain recovery. The problem solving of figuring out the trains, finding what I'm looking for in unfamiliar places, interacting with strangers....no. I have a very interesting book for the times when I'm not studying the backs of my eyelids.

     @roadriverrail One of the things I love about cruising is that I have very few choices to make. The most complicated usually being “how much effort do I want to put into eating?”

     @mcmcgreevy Indeed, the less mobile all-inclusives are like that. We've been talking about needing some time off like that. Our travel schedule tends to be full of Amy's conferences or other big events, which often don't feel like rest and recovery.
