    >have vague memories of this show as a kid
    >can remember nothing about it other than the kickass theme tune
    >it was made in South Korea and only ran for 2 seasons
i have nothing to add to this post except that Cubix looks like he was designed purely for merchandising opportunities

a youtube comment about this show mentioned a bunch of other shows of its type that have been lost to history like Monster Rancher or Jackie Chan Adventures, shows that only exist in the dim recesses of millennial's half forgotten memories

@Salastil @lain one of the Reboot characters is called Phong, presumably after the shading model they used to actual render him https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phong_shading

        Phong shading
In 3D computer graphics, Phong shading, Phong interpolation, or normal-vector interpolation shading is an interpolation technique for surface shading invented by computer graphics pioneer Bui Tuong Phong. Phong shading interpolates surface normals across rasterized polygons and computes pixel colors based on the interpolated normals and a reflection model. Phong shading may also refer to the specific combination of Phong interpolation and the Phong reflection model. History Phong shading and the Phong reflection model were developed at the University of Utah by Bui Tuong Phong, who published them in his 1973 Ph.D. dissertation and a 1975 paper. Phong's methods were considered radical at the time of their introduction, but have since become the de facto baseline shading method for many rendering applications. Phong's methods have proven popular due to their generally efficient use of computation time per rendered pixel. Phong interpolation Phong shading improves upon Gouraud shading and provides a better approximation of the shading of a smooth surface. Phong shading...

Reboot characters were stiffly animated in the initial seasons but towards the end it was animated quite decently. They chose a smart art style and character design to hide the technological shortcomings of the time period.

I think seeing the sumo guy going from invincible antagonist to useless side character when he flipped sides was one of the first instances I clearly noticed how stories are often driven by narratives rather than by the characters, and being pretty disappointed about it
