     I swear executives have some secret underground room where they all go get incredibly high, invent some preposterous new business fad together, and then get each other hyped up over it far past the point of all reason.

     The herd mentality of this nonsense — against all evidence, against all good sense — is just hard to miss.

     I mean, I expect you’re correct not only literally (a bit), but in principle: we’re witness the effect of limited social circles in which the conversation these people are exposed to is both limited and limiting.
