@feditips @knova @SleepyCatten i wholly agree that human rights issues should be non-negotiable at all times, but as someone who have also administrated and moderated large communities in the past, i do understand their motivations for being passive and neutral to controversy. it's a damned if you do, damned if you don't, scenario. and bringing your own opinion to the table usually ends very poorly. which is why more noise/users is the optimal solution to drown out the bad apples.

That's not the situation. They are not being passive or neutral, they are on the side of repressive governments.
