I'm trying to see this post from my instance but I don't seem to be able to, I wonder why. I also noticed everytime I try to search for a post using the link of the original source it doesn't seem to work. Is that normal?
@ada@jdp23@calckey.social@kainoa@calckey.social@supakaity@blahaj.zone I think it didn't seem an issue because we can't see the posts, not seen = not aware. But most conversations have some deleted message in between, which means we get a very narrowed version of what's truly going on in the fediverse. Entire trees of messages are invisible to us even if other tag us. I've noticed when I glanced at my Mastodon account I do get a much more complete picture because of this.
@maikelthedev@jdp23@calckey.social@kainoa@calckey.social@supakaity@blahaj.zone What you're seeing there is a design choice of Calckey (or possibly Misskey?). When someone deletes a post, all of the replies are deleted too. So that post almost certainly federated here, but was then deleted when a post higher up the chain was removed.
I'm not a huge fan of that feature, but until now, it hasn't really seemed like much of an issue.
The problem goes beyond Akkoma/Mastodon implementations, it is about Calckey not being able to see and therefore letting us interact, with any "hanging" toot. That is a toot that was part of a chained conversation where 1 of the in-between toots has been deleted.
@maikelthedev@blahaj.zone@supakaity@blahaj.zone It may be a delivery problem from their server, or an akkoma <-> calckey problem. Ik the thread got heated so maybe they changed it to unlisted on their end.
This is so odd. Because even when I see the top one here in Blahaj.zone and can see the conversation, the one I want does not show up either. And when I click on messages and replies from Linus I also don't see that message either.
