Well the dummy modem needs to be used first because it's the only one that can connect to the coaxial cable. Not sure how it is in Europe, but a lot places in America we have to get our internet through the cable lines that were originally intended for the Hellivision lol. :pepe_laugh:

I used switch first cos it can drop traffic if mac address changes out of the bloom. So you can know when equipment is changing/or other fishy thing happens downstream :chad2:

Watch Wendel from Level1Techs he has an entire video series on how to configure pfsense.
Lawrence Systems has a good series as well.
The basic concept is
Internet -> Modem -> Pfsense -> Switch -> Devices
But if you already have internet and need to watch videos while setting this up you could do
Internet -> Modem -> Old router -> Pfsense (subnet) -> Devices
It's recommended that you have a basic understanding of TCP/IP before you start replacing everything so get a crash course in networking as well.
