Well, this is interesting, apparently someone made a Fediverse alternative to Reddit called Lemmy, it even has a furry server, but almost no one is using it yet.
I guess it just never took off.
Said furry Lemmy instance. It's a ghost town, but it's interesting that it exists at all.

@kainoa Ah, I did not know this. I just only stumbled onto it an hour or so ago. Alslo have never heard of /kbin. I'll have to look into it.

@xoagray@meow.social Their website is over at https://kbin.pub , it's a lot smaller than Lemmy in terms of available instances as it's pretty brand new (only 4 exist with open registrations) but it has a lot of potential.

@Catwoman69y2k Well at least I'm learning some of the other stuff that's out there, I've never head of Calckey either. I'll have to look into what that is.

@xoagray Yeah. It's a matter of people knowing and wanting to have thier instance (of whatever Fediverse protocol) listed. I found one of them on there and have been tryin furry Calckey

@xoagray I don't perceive that same thing about furryfediverse.org. There is at least one of the non Mastodon furry instances displayed there. Furryfediverse.org is not Mastodon only

@Catwoman69y2k *nods* And that looks like it's 100% aimed at Mastodon. I was under the impression that the "fediverse" was a much more diverse set of apps and protocols and not just 100% Mastodon.
I'm still learning how all this stuff works, but I thought the Fediverse encompassed a number of services with the uniting element being that they were decentralized and free to use.

@Catwoman69y2k I wish there was more info about this stuff, most of what's on the fediverse I've never even heard of (like everything you just mentioned.) I didn't even know the Fediverse was more than just Mastodon till about a year ago.

@xoagray I wonder if many furries know about it. I know we got quite a few furry Maso instances,, maybe 1 furry Friendica, and at least 1 furry Calckey instance. Im glad to see more expansion into different AP things

@Catwoman69y2k@meow.social Yes. I'm currently seeing how well the gallery tools work. I feel like so many artists used Twitter even though it had no such gallery tools. Calckey might be the comparable AP solution:)
