     I don't think much was lost, as you couldn't use the site without running proprietary software if I remember correctly.

     @sallyNULL @meso @nekofag I must have misremembered and thought of 1337x in place of rarbg - 1337x indeed just shows a blank page without proprietary JavaScript.

     All of these sites are maintained by barely-tech-literate people, let alone free software enjoyers, so it's unsurprising they're full of nonfree javascrap and adware.

     @sallyNULL I don't know any frontends, but any decent torrent tracker works without JavaScript.
     For "research purposes", these two come to mind.

     https://thepiratebay0.org/ (I guess this is technically could be a frontend, but they seem to rehost the torrent database rather than redirect to it).

     It's not sorted, but you should be able to find whatever you need with the correct search string.
