   People building apps on top of your app is a sign of success! The second your organization starts to look at 3rd party developers as a threat, you've fucked up bad.

   It means you've shifted your company's focus from building to extortion.

     Given enough power in an organization, lawyers will always trend toward going to war with your customers because of "compliance" or "fiduciary duty” — and it smells exactly like this.
