   My brother, a cook who—like our mother—never sends a recipe without noting several modifications.

   I—a lousy cook who rarely cooks—never really know how to interpret measurements like ‘more’ or ‘way more’ or ‘less.’

     @goatsarah @Holberg I remember once during summer field geology our cook made spaghetti and the recipe called for 5 cloves of garlic. Being a student and a newbie cook, he thought they meant 5 entire bulbs.
     I have to say, it wasn’t awful, but we trespassed on a dimension reached only through #garlic. 😁
