   I've had these cookbooks from my grandma for a couple of years and have been meaning to give them a closer look and find some recipes to try. Would anyone be interested if I documented on here?

   Left book is from the mid 1910s and features a whopping 13 varieties of gingerbread recipe, the one on the right is from the mid 70s and has something called Creamed Oysters in Pepper Cases which I am scared to learn more about

     @aprilkirby And from my experience, the only thing worse than a candy burn is a glass burn.

     The recipe for fondant is wild they're like "if sugar gets on the side of the pot above the boiling hot mixture just brush it off with wet fingers it won't burn you if you're quick enough"

     @aprilkirby Yeah, glass is of course **far** hotter, and transfers a lot of heat very quickly, but molten sugar will just adhere like a motherfucker and burn continuously once it's on you. Fuck do I hate candy burns.
