     i probably have hundreds of pics of eastern gray squirrels from when i lived in DC. i had my pockets full of almonds. i don't care what you say, you horrible residents of DC, they are adorable

     blobfish was crowned as the ugliest animal by the Ugly Animal Preservation Society, but this is wildly unfair.

     the poor bastard is only horribly ugly because we pull it up from the deep too fast.

     down there, it is just an Ordinary Fish. #blobfish #uglyAnimalPreservationSociety

     horned lizards are some of the cooler creatures. the horns are bone, and part of the skull.

     i printed one in plaster

     if you have a dead one, i'd love the skull

     the thorny devil in Australia is an example of convergent evolution – it evolved the same properties and abilities as the horned lizard.

     the coolest thing is that it drinks with the help of the capillary effect: it stands in a a damp place, and moisture is transported up it's body, under the armour, and into it's mouth.

     love that guy.

     leafy seadragons. they are gorgeous, royal, gentle. to say they move sedately is a massive understatement. it's a slow, underwater ballet.

     speaking of dragons: the blue sea dragon floats around upside down in the ocean, held up by surface tension. and by being pretty.
