   @BendingUnit working class people can be easy to write off as ignorant, especially when they work menial jobs and exposure to people in those roles comes off with negative or fascist talking points. But many are as brilliant or observant as the most vocal philosophers and there is always a place in my heart for a working class man who tells it like it is.

     As a southern cis guy who very much looks and sounds like a stereotype, I really hate those stereotypes. I often feel VERY awkward trying to meet other leftists in person or attend events because I am very aware of the types of people that I resemble.

     @mstrmustache @BendingUnit I try my absolute best to avoid passing judgement until someone says something that is a major red flag. Dog whistles tend to be how I navigate, but that's not always reliable, either way I try to keep an open mind so I can make new comrades.

     We can only build a unified left if we actually unify and connect.

     That's my hope and part of the reason that I am trying to be as visible as possible, offline, because people should know that you don't have to look or sound any particular way to stand up for what's right.

     Another secret about construction workers:

     They will surprise you.

     A plumber was listening to one of those lame, syndicated morning shows early on today, and the main hist brought up some recent "miracle" that had to do with magically refilling communion wafers. I observed that the miracles never include priests being stopped from pedophilia and we started talking.

     He said he dislikes christian hypocrisy, and pointed out that their god was supposed to have created LGBTQ+ people.
