     @AnarchoNinaWrites @CrypticCatfist It mostly makes me sad - that the distinction between severe alert status, and annihilation isn’t emphatically stressed to all mods. Yeah, I’m just a user, and who knows how I’d respond to that level of stress, but it seems like alarms should go off before defederation with suggestions to pull back one level…? @oliphant @atomicpoet @Gargron

     Wow yes, this. The terminology is mushy, and that's disastrous UX design. The button that means defederate should say defederate (or at least block), not suspend, and when an admin clicks that button a big modal should come up pointing out that this is the nuclear option and are you *really* sure this is the button you want.

     @AnarchoNinaWrites @CrypticCatfist Isn’t ‘silence’ a non-destructive stopgap option when shit gets really bad, before executing defederate/suspend?
