@adamjcook@BruceMirken@atomicpoet@socialmedianews LinkedIn is also nearly indistinguishable from Facebook in its privacy practices, i.e. highly invasive. Why does the iPhone app need to collect my purchases, location, financial info, and other “Sensitive Data” when other free/paid apps don’t? It’s definitely not required for functionality, not even “contacts.” I’ve deleted it on my phone.
@atomicpoet@socialmedianews It's worse than that. LinkedIn is filled with fake accounts running scams of various sorts. I get a couple messages a week on there from scammers. And reporting them accomplishes nothing.
Perhaps it is just that I am into #manufacturing, but the comments sections that I see are… well… often less-than-professional and highly politically-charged.
Alt-right crap runs wild.
I just roll my eyes and log out.
Much of everything else is just cold messages from recruiters and cold sales pitches.
