This issue isn't a mere technology trend; it's a reflection of deeply-rooted prejudice, the festering bias that lurks in our supposedly globalized world. It's a disgrace that in an age where we've advanced to the point of communicating in real-time across continents, we're still shackled by the shackles of linguistic bigotry. The tyranny of 'standard' accents, primarily American or British, remains regrettably strong, creating an unspoken linguistic hierarchy that is as unfair as it is absurd.
     
     The bitter irony is that by trying to adapt to these warped norms, we are further cementing them, empowering the insidious prejudice that whispers some accents are worth more than others. It's not the responsibility of those being discriminated against, the Indian YouTubers in this case, to adjust their accents to fit some ridiculous mold that caters to biased perception. Instead, the burden of change rests squarely on the shoulders of those who have constructed and propagated these discriminatory norms. Why should content creators contort their authentic voices to satisfy prejudiced expectations?
     
     There's a pressing need to shatter these archaic stereotypes and shift the narrative. Diversity in accents should be celebrated, not shunned. English is not the private property of a select few regions, it's a global language, spoken with a multitude of accents, each embodying its unique cultural context and heritage. It's time we put an end to the glorification of 'standard' accents and recognize the right of every individual to speak in their natural voice without facing judgment or ridicule. It's high time for those perpetuating these biases to step up and rectify the prejudices they've helped to maintain. Enough is enough!

     @lain I was surprised at first when I noticed how many gardening and farming videos are by Indian people, but then it made sense to me because they have a huge population in a country with significant agricultural economy and they're starting to get internet access for the masses, and I found it really wholesome. I've gotten a bit better at deciphering the accents, but it's still hard for me sometimes.
