     @MoonlightBard Cost is a big factor as well as time on running an instance...However switching is really simple, if you get stuck @feditips has good clear instructions via their #fediverse website at https://fedi.tips but if you need help, just say the word.

     @robchapman It's just...frustrating. I'm autistic and don't deal with transitions well, especially when they're sprung on me. I was under the impression that my instance was more socially stable than it seems to be, based on the messaging of our admin. Turns out...I guess not, LUL So, it's startling.

     Fuck.

     Apparently, my instance is going to be shut down, and none of the writing-focused instances I would like to join are accepting new accounts.

     So that leaves me...what?

     Mastodon.social which is blocked by most other instances?

     One of the right-wing bigoted conspiracy instances in my locality?

     Twitter?

     It's like fucking AOL chat rooms all over again but in all the worst ways.
