I think this is an exaggeration of the truth, I haven’t seen anything about cameras watching employees.

@blaaablaaaa skull knows that, he's just glossing over that for the sake of brevity. He's simply saying that you can't just put that cat back in the bag and go on about your day

Also, this was a great find @Chet posted for why some offices want their employees back. I'm sure it's not just this office but it was interesting these people are training AI that will take over their jobs quickly.

Lol "fix that first." The western world has been systematically engineered to become a consumer nation that doesn't produce, fake jobs are a staple of that system.

Completely anecdotal and unaware of context
Management at my last job constantly spied on employees through cameras, if you got up to collect a delivery you would get a call at your desk asking where you went and why.
Safe to say that was one of the reasons I left.

I’m really talking about the facial and speech recognition part, I’m sure most companies have cameras and they might review them if you disappear for a bit.

Maybe not, but I still think it’s an exaggeration esp since it’s from the antiwork reddit. Employers also have to weigh how their employees feel about this stuff.

Why wouldn't they, I don't think corporations really care about their employees privacy or their feelings toward invasive monitoring.

Look at things like SentryPC and iMonitor. They are designed to monitor productivity as much as security. I don't know how things work where you are but in the US nearly every company of any size has a board of investors and metrics are reported as KPIs.
Productivity is king. Employers want to know what you are doing every moment that you owe them.

That part is true to some extent and sort of expected tbh, but the reporting on this doesn’t talk about HD cameras watching every employees face. That’s the exaggeration.

I’m sure you understand how that policy isn’t proof that they have HD cameras trained on every employees face or that they’re recording all audio in the office.

This is an excerpt from the policy, and yes most major companies have similar wording. You can monitor telephone calls and confirm physical presence. You use a company laptop, companies can monitor everything.
