That's why those warning messages about high volume on Android also don't make sense. "Raise volume above the safe level" Bro, I've connected you to my car stereo. -

Still, Decibel should be appropriate here, it's a logarithmic measure of the ratio of input (loudness as specified by the audio files or whatnot) versus output (loudness as specified by signal intensity within your speaker cables).

I think they probably consider these units too complex for normies and percentages just make more sense to them.
